Dear Kerrie,
It was a gift from God to be in the presence of such a strong kind and gentle animal.
She was always by my side or close by always happy and satisfied.
if i needed a hug or a kiss she was always willing i must have kissed that face 20 times a day........ at least.
Eve was gentle when i needed her to be. She was accepting of little kittens or grumpy little dogs
I had no need of protection but I know she would always be there by my side.
She walked proudly by my side and I by her side, always taking in the strength of her affections.
I will never have another Eve and will miss her forever.
She will never diminish in my eyes and soul.
Just wanted you to know she was loved deeply and in such a short time deeply loved me.

Sincerely Yours,
Carol Ann Seversen

PS Just wanted you to know Eve had very full days of fun and enjoyment.
We swam in a clear blue mountain lake in Oregon. Diamond lake. She was pretty new to us and she saw Mike walking on the docks out in the water. She went right in and walked then swam until I called her back. She looked a little dismayed at swimming for a minute, but it didn't really scare her as we spent the next hour or so walking the shallows looking for fish and just staying cool.
She ran the mudflats chasing the shore birds and then in turn chasing that bad little sheltie also. I don't know who she liked chasing better. probably the sheltie

Eve could crawl up on my bed and give me kissed anytime. She didn't get alot of people food but waited patiently to clean Mike's dinner plates daily.

She got daily massages from me and when my son had her he appraised me that she needed daily massages of her back legs and spine. funny they don't think mom knows anything

Eve hade her own MANY toys she moved around. They would spill out to play during the day, but at nite she would geather them up and put them into her kennel. She had thick cushion in her bed and favorite blankets.

Even though she had a coat that wouldn't quit, she would let me cover her and sometimes walked around the house with her blanket still on her.

Just want you to know each day was special for me with her.

In Memory of our beloved EVE

It's out The "TRAINING SECRETS OF THE GERMAN SHEPHERD" Magazine.

Look at the article on housetraining and it have a little quote of this breeder of Von Sudlich Shepherds, Kerry Southern Of Graham, WA.

>from the article....

"German shepherd breeder Kerry Southern
of Graham Washington, uses a large dog
litter box filled with cedar chips for puppies.
"When people take their pups home, I give
them some of the soiled cedar and tell them
to find an area where they want the pup to go
and sprinkle the cedar in that area," she says.
"When they take the puppy there to potty, the
puppy will immediately go because he knows what that area is for. I've been practicing this for a few years now and get many compliments on how fast the puppies are housetrained and that they have very few or no accidents in the house."

Just wanted let you know how Kaiser is doing.  He had his first appt with the vet this afternoon.  He weighed in at 17.5lbs (not sure if that is average size or not).  The vet said that he looked really good and to bring him back in a week and a half for his shots.  The others in the waiting room were commenting on how well behaved he was and how calm he was.  I, of course, had to show off that he is already sitting, laying down and sitting up on command (treat motivated right now of course, but with time treats will be weaned back).
We took him for his first walk on leach the other night and he did really well.  It was a long walk so he had a ride part of the way.  I took a pic and attached it to this email for you.  I thought that is was so cute I just had to share.  I was so impressed with him the other day.  My son was on the floor crying and Kaiser walked over to him, nosing him trying to get my son's attention and when he wouldn't stop crying  he sat down next to him and started crying with him.

I hope that things are going good for you and we will talk to you later.

Tracy

Hello Kerry,  6/30/2008

Well Kota is doing pretty well. Our ride home was a little whimpery but he eventually settled down. He does not like his kennel for nights to sleep in. He cries for a little bit but eventually falls asleep. He is eating all of his food three times a day and going potty regularly. He has not eliminated in the house and is pretty good at letting me know if he really needs to go out. We have another dog and they are getting along really well. Kota was a little shocked I think the first night, missing his mommy and siblings but he seems to have moved on from that already. Overall  I am so pleased with him and look forward to the adventures to come. We stayed in most of the weekend due to the weather being so hot, we did manage to get out in the evening and play in the yard when it's much cooler.

I will keep you posted as the weeks go on and will send pictures. Thanks again Kerry, it's been a pleasure working with you.

Sincerely,
Amber and Kota

Kerry,

Ryder (Buck & Mollee) is 5 1/2 months and weights 59 pounds.  He is gorgeous and as sweet as they come.  He loves chasing Sage and they play non-stop.  No signs of any problems from the HOD. The last picture - Ryder is getting ready to charge Sage.

Sage (Buck & Soco) will be a year old next week.  She is a real sweetheart and a kind sole with a beautiful soft silky coat.  Her nose is always to the ground and she loves to run.

Thanks for three great pups.

Barb

--  Barb, I think he is breathtaking. Glad to see he is better after the reactions to his shots.                                                      -Kerry

Hi Kerry
I wanted to let you know how Norma is and she is great! I took her yesterday to get her stitches out and the vet said it looked like she was healing up good and that she is a sweetheart! It is a little red and irratated around where the stitches were she said that it might be irritation but if doesn't clear up I will take her back tomorrow.
She had her first bath today and did not appreciate the bathtub and running water, but she really enjoyed it later when Jacob sprayed her in the face a few times with the hose! LOL The first time she met the cows she did not know what to do with them, her hackles went up and she wouldn't get close to the fence but the next day she was trying to lick them through the fence and they were trying to lick her. She is also starting to acknowledge cars and people around the house like when the mail lady came today she jumped up and ran to the back door. She is wondeful about obeying her commands, like when I walked out of the yard yesterday and when she started to follow I just pointed to the yard and said no and she turned around and went back.
We have been really happy with her and I am pretty sure she likes us too! There are no words to thank you for bringing Norma into our lives but we ask God to bless you and your dogs every night.

hugs
Jan

Hi Kerry:
Just wanted to let you know that everything is going well with our new pup.  She slept for almost the whole car ride, and didn’t get sick at all.  The meeting with our dog went really well.  I think they will end up being good friends.
You have obviously done an outstanding job with your puppies.  I have never seen a puppy at this age already grasping the idea of going potty outdoors.  So far, she has gone outside every time and seems to really understand that is where she is supposed to go.  She follows around the house and yard, and greets everyone who comes to the door, and doesn’t seem afraid of anything.
I will keep you posted on her progress.  Thank you so much!

Heidi
